Through studies and research, the CIC RN Infection Preventionist looks to decipher the spread of infections and disease in order avert further illness to the community and hospital employees.

In order to halt the spread of further outbreaks, the Infectious Disease Control Registered Nurse may investigate the source and help quarantine patients. SSI Epidemiology Nurses outline employee education to improve health policy, collaborating with hospital leadership and staff to design agendas and best practices to reduce disease within the medical center, adhering to NHSN requirements.
